APPLY NOW

The Hawaii Health and Arts Network (HAHN) provides training, peer learning, and direct mentorship in trauma-informed arts practice. The network supports arts workers in recognizing their essential role in community recovery and well-being.

The first cohort will include 15 community partners (11 on Maui and 4 on neighbor islands). Participants will gain tools to support individual and collective healing through creative expression while helping build a statewide arts-and-health network.

Communities across Hawaiʻi face a shortage of health and mental health professionals. In response, people often turn to trusted community organizations, cultural practitioners, and arts spaces for care and support, especially following the 2023 Maui wildfires.

Cohort members will participate January–December 2026 and receive a $2,400 stipend.

Applicants based on any Hawaiʻi island are welcome to apply.

Participants agree to:

  • Attend at least 9 monthly cohort meetings

  • Complete 2 core trainings: Psychological First Aid & Trauma-Informed Arts training

  • Host 2 community engagement activities for affected communities

  • Host 1 training or presentation for the cohort during a monthly meeting

  • Attend an in-person cohort gathering October 24, 2026 on Maui
