This synchronous series supports Hawai‘i’s family-serving and health professionals through culturally grounded self-care practices aligned with the phases of the Hawaiian moon calendar. Each live session includes guided grounding, oli, lunar insight, and simple restorative activities that help practitioners replenish, reflect, and realign their work with their own wellness.
Participants learn kilo-based reflection tools, explore seasonal and moon-phase patterns, and engage in practices that strengthen resilience in both personal and professional life. Optional self-care kits may be mailed as supplies allow.

January 30: Nānā i ke kumu Looking to the source and listening for the guidance that sustains us.
February 20: E hoʻokū, e kū Rooting and rising through the Kū moon phases, exploring strength, balance, and growth.
March 20: ʻO Kupulau ka lāʻau A season of wellness aligned with the Lāʻau moons and their restorative properties.
April 17: Hilo paʻa ʻia i ke aloha Beginning a new cycle, setting intentions, and weaving together the elements that support our future selves.

Culturally Grounded Arts-Based Tools for Wellness

This on-demand series introduces practical, culturally grounded arts-based tools that support wellness, connection, and trauma-informed practice. Each session includes a short AHAS pre-module explaining why arts-based strategies matter for families and early childhood systems, followed by a 30-minute lesson from The Maile Grove featuring oli, mo‘olelo, creative activities, and ʻike kupuna that participants can immediately integrate into their daily work.
Designed for public health staff, family support workers, home visitors, care coordinators, child care providers, family navigators, behavioral health teams, outreach staff, and anyone supporting parents, keiki, and community wellbeing. Participants may register for individual modules or the full series.

Session 1: Exercising Ea Understanding our shared origins with ʻāina and reflecting on the places that feed and sustain us.
Session 2: Huli ka lima i lalo Honoring the work that nourishes our communities through mo‘olelo and grounded movement.
Session 3: Activating the SensesUsing our senses to reconnect, regulate, and cultivate presence.
Session 4: The holistic well-being of EA Supporting whole-body wellbeing through gentle, chair-based movements that restore flow.
Facilitators
AHAS (Archive for Health, Arts & Spirit) brings expertise in trauma-informed practice, arts-based healing, cultural integration, and community-rooted professional learning across Hawai‘i.
The Maile Grove is a collective of Native Hawaiian practitioners who weave oli, mo‘olelo, kilo, and embodied creative practice to strengthen pilina with ʻāina, spirit, and self.
Together, they offer sessions that blend cultural knowledge, arts integration, and practical wellness tools designed specifically for Hawai‘i’s family-serving and health professionals.
