Guided by the Moon: Culturally Rooted Self-Care

This synchronous series supports Hawai‘i’s family-serving and health professionals through culturally grounded self-care practices aligned with the phases of the Hawaiian moon calendar. Each live session includes guided grounding, oli, lunar insight, and simple restorative activities that help practitioners replenish, reflect, and realign their work with their own wellness.

Live sessions take place on Zoom. Registered participants receive links by email and can return here for recordings and resources.Participants learn kilo-based reflection tools, explore seasonal and moon-phase patterns, and engage in practices that strengthen resilience in both personal and professional life. Optional self-care kits may be mailed as supplies allow.

A grounding opening session focused on arrival, intention-setting, and care for those who hold responsibility for others. Includes guided grounding, oli, and reflective practice aligned with the new moon.

Waxing Moon · Building Capacity

A practice-centered session exploring how to build capacity and momentum without burnout. Participants engage in simple, culturally grounded tools that support sustainability in daily work and life.

A reflective gathering centered on noticing patterns, strengthening connection, and honoring what is visible. Includes guided reflection, lunar insight, and collective pause.

Waning Moon · Release & Realignment

A closing session focused on release, rest, and realignment. Participants are invited to let go of what no longer serves and reconnect with practices that support ongoing wellness.

This on-demand series introduces practical, culturally grounded arts-based tools that support wellness, connection, and trauma-informed practice. Designed for public health staff, family support workers, home visitors, care coordinators, child care providers, family navigators, behavioral health teams, outreach staff, and anyone supporting parents, keiki, and community wellbeing. Participants may register for individual modules or the full series.

Facilitators

AHAS (Archive for Health, Arts & Spirit) brings expertise in trauma-informed practice, arts-based healing, cultural integration, and community-rooted professional learning across Hawai‘i.

The Maile Grove is a collective of Native Hawaiian practitioners who weave oli, mo‘olelo, kilo, and embodied creative practice to strengthen pilina with ʻāina, spirit, and self.

Together, they offer sessions that blend cultural knowledge, arts integration, and practical wellness tools designed specifically for Hawai‘i’s family-serving and health professionals.
